Victoria Station is surrounded by restaurants within a ten-minute radius, with Belgravia on one side and Pimlico on the other. Eccleston Yards, an enclave of restaurants including Cornus, Wild by Tart, Family Jones Project and Amie Wine Studio, is just five minutes from the station.
Two-Michelin-starred A Wong has returned home after a three-month refurbishment that saw the team move into the Mandarin Oriental Mayfair for the summer. It has a new-look dining room, as well as a 12-seat private room menu. The first Chinese restaurant outside Asia to win a second Michelin star, A Wong's food is always special, and chef-owner Andrew Wong has been working on his new Collections of China menu for months. His much-loved dim sum lunch remains.
The Goring is one of the capital's most storied hotels. The Dining Room restaurant has a Michelin-starred menu, with longhorn beef Wellington and Sunday roasts sliced on a silver trolley and caviar added to dishes at the table. The native lobster omelette is a must-order.
Lorne, a few minutes from the station, is a wine-focused restaurant with a neighbourhood feel. Owner Katie Exton was a sommelier at Chez Bruce, The Square and The River Café before she opened Lorne in 2017. Head chef Graham Brown has worked at Lorne since it opened. Autumn highlights include roast haddock with BBQ baby gem, pearl barley, prawns and shellfish bisque, and roast fig tart with vanilla cream, honeycomb and red wine.
Wild by Tart opened in Eccleston Yards in 2019 in a former power station. The farm-to-fork menu could include salt-cod fritters with coriander yoghurt, grilled hake with borlotti beans, and whipped feta with honey and crunchy chilli oil. Weezie's, a more recent Eccleston Yard hit, focuses on thin-crust pizzas and serves Amie wines.
