ActiveCampaign, a prominent autonomous marketing platform, has announced the release of its Google Ads connector for Active Intelligence, its dedicated AI engine. This new integration allows marketers and business owners in the UK to link their ActiveCampaign data with Google Ads, facilitating the direct launch and management of Performance Max campaigns from within the ActiveCampaign interface. The move aims to simplify the often complex process of digital advertising, reducing the need to switch between multiple platforms and manage numerous logins.
The connector transforms Active Intelligence into a virtual guide for users, assisting them throughout the entire campaign creation process. This includes everything from setting up a new Google Ads account and defining campaign goals to proposing ad copy. A key feature of this integration is the inclusion of Google’s generative AI asset builder, currently in beta, which can create new images for campaigns or utilise existing assets stored in ActiveCampaign’s Content Manager. This ensures that marketers retain control while their advertisements reach high-intent customers across Google’s extensive network – encompassing Search, YouTube, Gmail, Maps, Display, and Discover – all within a predetermined budget.
This development aligns with ActiveCampaign's concept of the “last mile” of marketing, where business owners provide the strategic inputs while AI handles the operational execution. This approach is designed to free up marketers to focus their expertise and creativity on strategy and messaging, rather than on the mechanics of campaign deployment. Chai Atreya, Chief Product and Technology Officer at ActiveCampaign, highlighted that this innovation is intended to streamline the execution phase, allowing customers to dedicate more energy to the creative and strategic aspects of their campaigns.
Performance Max campaigns are an all-in-one advertising solution that utilises AI to identify and convert new customers across Google's entire inventory from a single campaign. ActiveCampaign’s new connector is designed to make these impactful campaigns more accessible by leveraging customer data for richer audience insights and supporting informed decision-making. Users can initiate the process by simply communicating their objectives to Active Intelligence, which then guides them through setup or proposes a plan based on existing goals and budgets, with user control maintained at every stage.
The Google Ads connector is the latest addition to Active Intelligence’s expanding ecosystem, which aims to consolidate various marketing tech tools into a unified, AI-powered workspace. Beyond Google Ads, customers can already connect platforms such as Wix, Calendly, and Stripe, with further integrations anticipated. This strategy positions ActiveCampaign to offer a more comprehensive and intelligent hub for marketing execution, differentiating it from platforms that typically focus solely on their internal functionalities. The Google Ads connector for Active Intelligence is currently available to ActiveCampaign customers subscribed to Plus plans and above.
