AI training-data startup AfterQuery has reportedly raised a funding round that values the company at $3.2 billion. This valuation comes just five months after the company announced its $30 million Series A round in April, which valued it at $300 million.
This reported increase represents more than a tenfold rise in less than half a year. According to Y Combinator partner Gustaf Alströmer, this makes AfterQuery the fastest startup to achieve unicorn status in the accelerator's history. The founders, aged 22 and 23, participated in Y Combinator's Winter 2025 cohort 18 months ago.
In April, the San Francisco-based startup stated it had reached an annualised revenue run rate of $100 million and was collaborating with major AI labs. Named customers include Nvidia, Legora, and the Korean AI lab Motif Technologies.
AfterQuery focuses on training AI models and agents to perform tasks like professionals, rather than solely on factual accuracy. The company describes this process as "encoding the patterns, decisions, and reasoning of the world’s best practitioners."
