AI security startup AIR has announced it has raised $50 million in seed funding across two rounds. The first round secured $10 million, led by Sequoia, while the second round brought in $40 million, led by Greenoaks.
Founded by Yair Saban and Niv Hoffman, AIR offers a platform designed to identify AI agents within companies, continuously vet the skills and tools they use, and prevent interactions with unapproved software or external sources. The company also provides a marketplace for vetted add-ons and skills for AI agents.
AIR's CEO, Yair Saban, stated that the new capital will primarily be used for hiring researchers and expanding the company's market efforts in the U.S. and Europe. The startup currently has approximately 40 employees.
The company claims to have more than 20 customers, with about a quarter being large enterprises. Saban noted that demand has been particularly strong in heavily regulated sectors, including financial services and pharmaceutical companies.
