Amanda Serrano, a seven-division world champion, is set to make history once again as she defends her WBA and WBO featherweight titles against Argentina's Lucrecia Manzur on Friday in California. This fight marks the first world championship boxing event to be streamed live on TikTok.
Serrano, who has had 54 fights over 17 years, is also aiming for a significant career milestone. A 33rd stoppage triumph, which would be her 50th professional victory, would see her surpass Christy Martin for the most knockout wins in women's boxing history. "To tie was an honour, but now we have to break it. I don't like being tied," Serrano stated.
The 37-year-old champion described the TikTok streaming as a natural fit for the current social media era, aiming to reach younger generations. This bout is planned as Serrano's penultimate appearance in her career, with a farewell fight targeted for Puerto Rico later this year or in early 2027.
