Amazon unveils new Alexa tablets with Google Play Store access

Amazon has introduced a new range of Alexa tablets, featuring Alexa+ AI and full access to the Google Play Store, departing from its traditional Fire OS.

Amazon has unveiled a new line of Alexa tablets, which include personalised intelligence from its Alexa+ AI assistant and full access to the Google Play Store. This new lineup consists of three models: the Amazon Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, Amazon Alexa Tablet 11, and Amazon Alexa Tablet 8.

The tech company stated that each tablet features an aluminium unibody design, high-resolution displays, and runs on Android. Access to the Google Play Store at launch means users can download a wide range of apps, including YouTube, Netflix, and Gmail.

The Amazon Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, starting at $499.99, measures 6.5 mm thick and has a 12-inch, 280 PPI display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Alexa Tablet 11, priced from $329.99, is an 11-inch device with a 2.5K display. The smallest model, the Alexa Tablet 8, starts at $229.99 and features an 8.7-inch display.

These new Alexa tablets, along with new Amazon Kids tablets, will be available for purchase in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain starting October 19, 2026.
