Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden has provided an update on her health as she prepares for her return to the show. The dancer, 36, has been receiving preventative cancer treatment on screen during the current series of Celebrity Hunted.
Dowden was diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago, leading to two mastectomies and chemotherapy. She also experienced sepsis and a broken foot. She now attends hospital monthly for ongoing preventative treatment, a routine she has described as part of her life.
Ahead of the 2026 series of Strictly Come Dancing, Dowden stated she feels "the fittest, the healthiest, the strongest I’ve ever been." She will be returning to the show alongside fellow professional Carlos Gu.
