British sprinter Amy Hunt finished third in the Diamond League 200m final in Brussels, recording a season's best time of 22.16 seconds. Hunt stated that despite the conditions, this was one of the better races of her career.
Julien Alfred of St Lucia, the Olympic 100m champion, secured victory in the women's 200m with a time of 21.79 seconds. Kyla White of the US finished second in 22.00 seconds.
In other events, Mondo Duplantis pulled out of the pole vault competition due to tightness in his leg. This withdrawal has put his participation in the upcoming Ultimate Championships in Budapest into question.
The two-day meeting is set to conclude on Saturday, with Audrey Werro attempting a women's 800m world record. Georgia Hunter Bell is also a favourite to win the women's 1500m.
