Prime Minister Andy Burnham has spent his first week in office focusing on a message of change, including commitments to cost of living support, ending rough sleeping, and fixing the social care system.

On Monday, Mr Burnham made a commitment to address the social care system. He also stated in an email to Labour members that ending rough sleeping is "something a government can fix if it chooses to, and today, on day one, I’m choosing to.”

New research by Ipsos indicates that 83% of British adults want significant reform to tackle cost of living pressures, with 51% stating that radical change is necessary. However, six in ten of those surveyed are not confident that any major national political party has a good plan for changing Britain.
