Gareth Anscombe's debut for Scarlets was delayed after a registration issue prevented him from playing in the pre-season game against Exeter Chiefs last weekend. The 35-year-old fly-half had been named to start the match at Sandy Park but was withdrawn shortly before kick-off.

Scarlets have confirmed that Anscombe was not injured and the problem relates to his registration. The club is hopeful the necessary paperwork will be resolved quickly.

If cleared in time, Anscombe is set to play against the Dragons at Parc y Scarlets on Friday, 11 September. He was present at Sandy Park to watch Scarlets' 36-15 victory over Exeter and assisted with the team's warm-up.
