The Group of States Against Corruption (GRECO), the Council of Europe's anti-corruption body, published its 6th Round Evaluation Report on the United Kingdom today, 20 August 2026. The report, adopted by GRECO's plenary in June 2026, assesses measures to prevent corruption and promote integrity at the sub-national level.
The evaluation specifically focused on London, as the capital, and Kent, which participated voluntarily. The report acknowledges the UK's positive efforts in preventing corruption and promoting integrity at both national and sub-national levels, noting good practices by the Greater London Authority and Kent County Council.
GRECO's report includes 6 recommendations aimed at further strengthening these efforts. HM Government is currently considering these recommendations and is scheduled to submit a report on the implementation measures by 31 December 2027, in line with GRECO's procedural rules.
