Applications for the UK government's 2026-27 Chevening Scholarships programme are now open. Prospective candidates must submit their applications via the Chevening website by 6 October 2026.
The programme provides fully funded master's degrees at UK universities. It is open to Lebanese citizens and Palestinians residing in Lebanon, who can apply under the Lebanon scheme for any subject area.
Lebanon also benefits from the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) Chevening Fellowship, which allows mid-career academics and professionals to undertake five months of independent research at the University of Oxford. Applications for this fellowship open on 11 August and close on 6 October 2026.
The Scholarship scheme for Lebanon includes two local partnerships. The Chevening-Siren Associates Scholarship, now in its sixth year, offers one scholarship for a master's in Governance, International Development, Human Rights, or Public Financial Management/Administration at a top 20 UK university. The Chevening-Raffy Manoukian Scholarship, in its third year, offers up to three scholarships for master's degrees in Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, STEM, and similar topics at a top 10 UK university.
Additionally, the British Embassy Beirut has offered the Chevening-Rebecca Dykes Scholarship since 2017. This scholarship supports one female Chevening scholar each year for a master's degree in fields such as Gender Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, Development and Human Rights, or Refugee and Migration Studies.
