Arsenal are set to kick off their Champions League journey with a tough encounter against Napoli, as Mikel Arteta's side aims to improve on last year's runner-up finish. The Gunners faced travel chaos ahead of the match, with their flight to Naples delayed by air traffic control problems in the UK.
The disruption meant Arsenal's pre-match press conference, scheduled for Tuesday evening with manager Mikel Arteta and defender Riccardo Calafiori, was cancelled. The squad eventually arrived in Naples around 9:30pm local time.
Napoli will be without Scott McTominay, who recently underwent a heart procedure, and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa. However, former Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne is anticipated to return to the starting line-up, alongside former Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund. For Arsenal, Jurrien Timber has travelled and could be available for his first appearance of the season, while Cristhian Mosquera is expected to miss out.
The Champions League fixture is scheduled for an 8pm BST kick-off at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
