Arsenal have been dealt an injury blow as Kai Havertz was forced off during Germany's international clash with the Netherlands. The forward, chosen to lead the line in Jurgen Klopp's debut as Germany manager, left the field on the half-hour mark with what appeared to be a muscle problem.
Havertz received treatment for his hamstring, which was heavily taped, before being replaced by Younes Ebnoutalib. The incident followed a heavy challenge on his knee by Quinten Timber, for which the Crystal Palace summer signing received a yellow card.
The injury raises concerns for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, particularly as Havertz spent much of the first half of last season sidelined with a knee injury. He was not the only Premier League-linked player to suffer an injury, with Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey also forced off with a hamstring issue after scoring a hat-trick against Manchester City in his last club game.
