Bam Margera's explosive exit from the Jackass franchise has reached a boiling point, with the star adamant that he will never again share the screen – or even a room – with co-star Johnny Knoxville and director Jeff Tremaine. Speaking candidly to Rolling Stone, Margera delivered a damning verdict on any potential reunion: "Not in 10 million years!" This incendiary statement follows his acrimonious departure from the 2022 film Jackass Forever, which was marred by reports of substance abuse issues and a subsequent high-stakes legal battle.
The row began during filming, when Margera reportedly failed a series of drug and alcohol tests. He subsequently took Paramount Pictures to task, alleging "inhumane" and "discriminatory" treatment relating to his wellness agreement. In an explosive claim, he accused the production team of being complicit in his downfall: "I was set up to fail." This lawsuit eventually settled out of court, with Paramount insisting that efforts were made to support Margera's sobriety before his dismissal.
While Margera won't be reprising his role for any future films, die-hard fans can catch him in Jackass: Best And Last, the recently released compilation flick presented as the franchise's swan song – albeit via archive footage. When asked if he'd still watch the new film, Margera replied with characteristic bluntness: "Yeah, I'll probably stick my nose into it." Yet make no mistake: the door on any reunion is firmly slammed shut.
Interestingly, while Margera's ire remains squarely trained on Knoxville and Tremaine, he insists that his animosity doesn't extend to the wider Jackass cast. "I never want to see them ever again in my life," he declares, adding a stark warning: "Enough is enough!" This sentiment chimes with his previous statements from last year, when he flatly ruled out a return, stating that even the promise of hefty paycheques wouldn't tempt him.
Knoxville, meanwhile, expressed his own personal desire to see Margera back in the fold – but only on his own terms. "We drew a hard line with Bam," Knoxville told GQ, adding that they wanted to help their colleague turn things around. This echoes Margera's earlier claim that he couldn't be bought: "You couldn’t offer me enough money to want to do another Jackass with them."
The Jackass franchise has long been the preserve of adrenaline junkies and comedy fans, with its outrageous stunts and irreverent humour winning over a global following. While ' Jackass: Best And Last' hits screens in the UK (with streaming details still to be confirmed), one thing's for sure: Bam Margera won't be joining his old mates on set anytime soon.
The film, which debuted in cinemas last month, has yet to announce its UK streaming availability. Previous Jackass films have found homes on platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
