The Bank of England has secured a new long-term premises in Leeds, Capitol House in Bond Court, marking a significant step in its commitment to expand its presence in the region. The new office is intended to provide a modern space that supports collaboration and innovation.
This move will enable the Bank to deliver its key central banking functions across both its London and Leeds offices. The Bank of England currently has just under 300 colleagues based in Leeds.
Governor Andrew Bailey stated that the new office is an important milestone in the Bank's long-term commitment to the city, helping it to better reflect and represent the people, businesses, and communities it serves across the UK. West Yorkshire Mayor Tracy Brabin noted that the Bank's deeper roots in Leeds signal a national belief in the region's economic future.
