La Liga champions Barcelona have chosen St George's Park in Staffordshire as their base for a pre-season training camp this week. Manager Hansi Flick's squad arrived in the Midlands for preparations that include two friendly matches against Championship teams.
The Catalan giants are set to face Birmingham City at St Andrew's on Friday. Following this, they will play Preston behind closed doors at St George's Park next Monday. These matches are part of their pre-season programme, with the World Cup schedule influencing their decision to avoid a long-haul tour.
New summer signing Karim Adeyemi, who joined from Borussia Dortmund, is part of the travelling squad. However, eight of Barcelona's World Cup-winning Spain internationals, including Lamine Yamal, are currently on a post-tournament break. Marc-Andre ter Stegen, despite being expected to move to Ajax on loan, has also travelled to England.
