BBC Introducing has announced a month-long series of events for emerging artists, set to take place across 10 locations in the UK throughout November. The programme will include performances, workshops, educational panels, open mic sessions, and networking opportunities.
Locations for the events include Belfast, Bridgend, Gateshead, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Nottingham, and Sunderland. The programme is scheduled to begin in Bridgend and London on November 5, concluding with four showcases in Leeds on November 28.
This announcement follows the confirmation last month that the BBC Introducing Stage, which launched in 2008 and had supported artists like Ed Sheeran and The 1975 early in their careers, had been removed from Reading & Leeds festivals after 18 years. A Festival Republic spokesperson stated the decision was made to "support a more diverse range of up-and-coming artists."
BBC Introducing editor Kelly Betts commented that "Introducing LIVE will be returning in November for our biggest year yet." The BBC confirmed that Introducing will continue to collaborate with other festivals, including Latitude and The Great Escape.
