Game Freak, the developers behind most mainline Pokémon titles, have released 'Beast Of Reincarnation', their first console game outside the Pokémon franchise in seven years. The new action role-playing game has been criticised for its visuals and gameplay.
The game's storyline, which is approximately 35 hours long, is described as having needlessly complicated lore and numerous cutscenes. Players follow the character Emma on a journey through a post-apocalyptic world, accompanied by a magical dire wolf named Koo, a sick surrogate sister Kagura, and a mentor Brad.
Combat involves hacking through robotic foes and woodland creatures, with an intricate skill tree for customisation. However, the game has been noted for its repetitive nature, with one song scoring each of the 13 missions on a loop and final bosses often being larger versions of earlier creatures.
'Beast Of Reincarnation' is available now on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
