The Beastie Boys' legacy is about to get a whole lot more personal – and live – in the UK, as founding member Mike D announces an explosive solo tour extension that's got everyone from Brighton to London buzzing. The hip-hop icon has just dropped a string of new dates, including a highly anticipated headlining slot at the Mutations Festival on 24 October, where he'll be sharing top billing with indie-dance up-and-comers Fat Dog.
This solo endeavour marks a seismic shift for Mike D, whose debut single 'Switch Up' – released in May – marked his first new music since the Beastie Boys' final album 'Hot Sauce Committee Part Two' back in 2011. The anticipation is palpable for his debut solo album 'Thank You', set to drop on 28 August 2026.
Joining forces with his sons, Davis and Skyler Diamond (of Very Nice Person), Mike D's live shows are already generating major heat – having wowed fans at a series of intimate UK and European gigs in June. Following Mutations Festival, he'll bring the noise to Glasgow on 26 October, Manchester on 27 October, and London's O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 28 October before embarking on an epic European leg.
For Brighton, this is a major coup – marking the first time a Beastie Boys member has taken the stage in the city since the group's legendary show with Run-DMC at the Brighton Centre back in May 1987. Fat Dog will kick off Mutations Festival on 23 October, before Mike D takes over Chalk the following night. With over 90 more acts yet to be announced, this is shaping up to be a truly unforgettable festival.
Tickets for Mutations go on sale at 10am on Wednesday, 22 July 2026 – while tickets for individual shows in Glasgow, Manchester, and London will become available from 10am on Friday, 24 July 2026. Since 'Switch Up', Mike D has also unleashed a trio of further singles from his impending album: 'What We Got', 'True Colors', and 'Crypto'.
