Burns sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament during Ipswich Town's match against Liverpool in January 2025, which kept him out of play for almost a year. He expressed that in football, players can be quickly forgotten when injured, making Bellamy's consistent check-ins particularly impactful.
Now 31, Burns has rejoined the Wales squad for the first time in two years for their Nations League campaign. He hopes to make an impact in upcoming matches, including the tie against Denmark on Sunday, 27 October, and Norway on Thursday, 1 October.
