Ben Roberts-Smith, who is accused of war crimes, has launched a brand called EPIC 1 TWO. He stated that the income from the brand is needed to support his family and cover legal expenses.
Mr Roberts-Smith, 47, was arrested in April and charged with murdering or ordering the murders of five unarmed detainees during his deployment in Afghanistan between 2009 and 2012. He has categorically denied all allegations, stating he "always acted within my values, within my training and within the rules of engagement."
The charges against Mr Roberts-Smith, Australia's most decorated living soldier, relate to three separate incidents. These include two alleged murders in Kakarak in April 2009, one alleged murder in September 2012, and complicity in the alleged murder of two prisoners in Syahchow in October 2012.
Mr Roberts-Smith launched the brand with a video on Instagram, featuring him walking along a beach and working out. He said the brand's name, EPIC 1 TWO, is derived from his radio call sign when he was awarded the Victoria Cross.
