Scotland secured a thumping 170-run victory over Canada at Forthill in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series. Captain Richie Berrington and debutant Lyle Robertson were the standout performers for the hosts.
Berrington, 39, hit an impressive 120 runs, including four sixes, contributing to Scotland's imposing total of 347-7 from their 50 overs. This century also saw him set a new Scottish record with 90 one-day international centuries, surpassing George Munsey's 87.
Falkland off-spinner Robertson, 23, made a dream debut, ripping through Canada's batting order to claim six wickets for 52 runs. His remarkable spell included five scalps from his final 15 deliveries.
Canada were bowled out for 177 in 35 overs, with Pargat Singh (42) offering the only meaningful resistance. Scotland, already assured of a World Cup qualifier spot, now sit top of the World Cup League 2 standings after this win and a recent victory over the United Arab Emirates.
