A fine art photographer from Rome has begun a 10,000-mile motorbike journey from Kent to Nepal with his goggle-wearing dog in a sidecar. Daniele Longo, 45, and his border collie-Alsatian cross, Haku, are setting off this week.

The pair plan to film their odyssey on an SWM Urban 525 and document it online. Their initial destination is Rome, a journey Mr Longo expects to take 30 days, before heading east to Asia later this year.

Due to the war in Iran, their route will take them through Azerbaijan, across the Caspian Sea, and then through Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan before reaching China and finally Nepal. Mr Longo adapted the motorbike's sidecar for Haku, who is less mobile now due to age.
