A couple in their fifties from Great Barr, Birmingham, have become social media stars, attracting millions of views with videos centred on the daily question: "What's for dinner?" For the past seven months, Dawn Emmett has been filming her partner, Neil Haycock, as he presents their evening meals at home.
What began as a casual activity has gained popularity among users of all ages on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook globally. Ms Emmett, 58, stated that the initial video, featuring Mr Haycock cooking mussels and chips, quickly garnered thousands of views, prompting them to continue uploading content.
Mr Haycock, 53, who has enjoyed cooking since his teenage years, has seen several of his dishes achieve significant online attention. A video of him serving roast seabass on the barbecue reportedly reached approximately 3.5 million views. Other popular meals have included peri-peri chicken with spicy rice, and pork belly with spiced red cabbage and fondant potatoes.
The couple's videos have led to thousands of followers and local recognition, according to Ms Emmett.
