Iconic American pop-punk band Blink-182 has unveiled a unique collaboration with the beloved arcade character Pac-Man, commemorating the 25th anniversary of their seminal album, 'Take Off Your Pants And Jacket'. The partnership introduces a range of limited-edition merchandise and an immersive experience for fans at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con.
The centrepiece of the collaboration is a special numbered Blink-182 x Pac-Man Comic Con vinyl edition of 'Take Off Your Pants And Jacket', produced by Blood Records. Fans will also have the opportunity to acquire a Blink-182 version of the distinctive Pac-Man x 7-Eleven t-shirt, famously worn by bassist Mark Hoppus during the band's much-anticipated comeback performance at Coachella Festival in 2023. This particular item aims to capture a moment that blended the band's characteristic humour with arcade nostalgia and convenience store culture.
Attendees of San Diego Comic-Con, which runs from 23rd to 26th July, will be able to visit a dedicated Blink-182 x Pac-Man booth (number 1415). This arcade-themed space is designed to transport visitors on a nostalgic journey, celebrating both the album's milestone and the band's recent resurgence in popularity. The booth will feature stylised animated depictions of the band, co-branded arcade cabinets, and a claw machine offering Pac-Man plush toys and other Blink-182 memorabilia as prizes. Additionally, fans can pose for photos with Pac-Man himself and the band's distinctive bunny mascot.
This collaboration follows the release of a 25th-anniversary edition of 'Take Off Your Pants And Jacket' on streaming platforms last month. This digital release includes the original 13 tracks alongside six B-sides, with a vinyl version also available for pre-order. Further details regarding the full scope of the Blink-182 and Pac-Man partnership are anticipated to be announced in due course.
Blink-182's most recent studio album, 'One More Time…', was released in 2023. The band has also confirmed an extensive schedule of European shows for summer 2027, including headline slots at major festivals such as Rock Am Ring, Rock Im Park, and Rock For People in June. They are also scheduled to play three standalone headline concerts in Berlin, Paris, and Milan during the same month.
