Bluesky, the open social network, announced on Thursday at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 an expansion of its Attie platform. This new tool allows creators to develop websites, quizzes, games, polls, and other interactive experiences.
Attie, previously focused on AI-powered custom social feeds, aims to empower everyday users to build experiences typically requiring software development skills. Bluesky CEO Toni Schneider described this as "social vibe coding" for communities.
The user-created content will reside on the AT Protocol, the same technology underpinning Bluesky and other decentralised social applications. Creators can use their own AI models or open-weight options for building, and the resulting sites and games can tap into Bluesky's audience, which currently stands at 47 million registered users.
Bluesky COO Rose Wang highlighted that Attie addresses the distribution challenge for creators, stating that it "comes with the Bluesky distribution, so it doesn’t stand alone." The company plans to reinvigorate network activity by focusing on developers and communities, with forthcoming support for private data, currently in alpha testing, expected by the end of the year.
