The body of Michael Henry, a 19-year-old whose kayak capsized, has been discovered in the North Sea. Northumbria Police confirmed that Henry, from the Rothbury area, was located off the coast of Blyth on 26 July.
Henry was one of two men in the water near Boulmer, Northumberland, shortly after 21:15 BST on 7 July. The other man was rescued by the coastguard after swimming to a buoy.
Formal identification has since been completed, and a report has been prepared for the coroner. The search for the teenager had previously been called off on 15 July.
His family described him as a "keen sportsman who loved the outdoors" and stated he had hoped to start university in the upcoming academic year.
