American boxer Hannah Rapp has tragically died at the age of 26 after being involved in a cycling accident in Texas on Saturday, 18 July 2026. The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Rapp was struck by a reversing vehicle and, despite receiving emergency medical care, later passed away in hospital.
The incident occurred just before 10:00 a.m. in the 23000 block of FM 159, where deputies responded to reports of a major crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist. Initial investigations suggest the vehicle struck Rapp, leaving her in the roadway. The driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old male, has since been arrested and charged with manslaughter, with the investigation currently active and ongoing.
Rapp, who held a professional record of 8-1-1 (5 KOs), had fought just one month prior, on 13 June, challenging Tiara Brown for the WBC featherweight title. The bout, promoted by Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), saw Rapp lose on points. Her dedication and talent in the ring left a lasting impression on many in the boxing community.
Tributes have flooded in from across the boxing world. Jake Paul, the YouTuber-turned-boxer and founder of MVP, shared his condolences on Instagram, writing: “Condolences to all of Hannah’s family, friends and teammates. RIP warrior.” Most Valuable Promotions also released a statement expressing their heartbreak, describing Rapp as a “gifted athlete” and a “valued member of the boxing community” who was deeply respected.
Her recent opponent, Tiara Brown, shared an emotional tribute, recalling Rapp’s humility and fighting spirit. Brown stated it was an honour to share the ring with Rapp and vowed to keep her name alive. WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman also expressed his deep sadness at the passing of “our champion Hannah Rapp,” further highlighting the profound loss felt by the sport.
