Maxim De Cuyper then secured the winning goal for Brighton in the 69th minute.

Manager Michael Carrick made late substitutions, bringing on Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha, but United could not find an equaliser. The team has only secured four points from twelve in the league, leading to questions about their season's direction. United are scheduled to play Fulham on Sunday.
