Sheffield-born metal heavyweights Bring Me The Horizon delivered a memorable performance at France's Hellfest last Thursday, marking their inaugural headline slot at the renowned festival. A highlight of their 15-track setlist was the unexpected appearance of Will Ramos, the formidable frontman of American deathcore band Lorna Shore, who joined them on stage for a powerful rendition of their 2013 track, 'Antivist'.
The collaboration took place approximately ten songs into their set, where Bring Me The Horizon typically invites an audience member to sing alongside lead vocalist Oli Sykes. However, Sykes introduced Ramos as a pre-selected 'fan', playfully cautioning the crowd to 'Be nice to him, even if he’s shit, alright?' before Ramos took the stage. The two vocalists then delivered a blistering performance, with Ramos handling the main vocals and Sykes providing backing.
This appearance at Hellfest follows previous performances by Bring Me The Horizon at the festival in 2009, 2016, and 2022. The festival itself spanned several days, featuring other major acts such as Iron Maiden, Limp Bizkit, and The Offspring in headline slots.
Looking ahead, Bring Me The Horizon is preparing for two special shows at Manchester's BEC Arena on July 10 and 11 as part of Outbreak Festival 2026. These dates will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album, 'Count Your Blessings', which they will perform in its entirety. Coinciding with these performances, the band is releasing a 'reactivated' re-recording of the album on July 10, described as a 'recontextualisation' aiming to make the original tracklist 'sharper, heavier, and more vital than ever'.
The re-recorded album will largely retain its original tracklist, though 'Liquor & Lost Love' will now appear under its initial working title, 'Dragon Slaying'. Ahead of the full album release, the band recently shared their updated version of 'Black & Blue'. Sykes has previously spoken about the band's tradition of inviting fans to sing, drawing a parallel to his own teenage experience watching Funeral For A Friend.
