The British Embassy has launched its 'Ambassador for a Day 2026' programme, inviting senior school students whose primary country of residence is Lithuania to participate. The competition is open to individuals aged between 16 and 19 years old as of 1 December 2026.
To enter, students must create an original video, up to 120 seconds long, in English. The video should address one of two topics: their vision for the future if they were Ambassador for a Day, or how the UK and Lithuania can collaborate over the next 35 years. Videos should be uploaded to YouTube as "Unlisted" and submitted by 11:45pm (local time) on 26 October 2026.
An independent jury will review entries, focusing on authenticity, clear communication, passion, and inspiration rather than technical quality. Winners will be invited to the British Embassy to meet the Ambassador, engage with the embassy team, and experience core diplomatic activities, including meetings and events with senior diplomats and partners. Reasonable travel and accommodation expenses for the winner and one chaperone will be covered by the British Embassy Vilnius.
