British National Rescued in Nepal After Deadly Floods

A British national has been rescued in Nepal nearly a week after floods killed over 1,000 people and left thousands missing.

A British national has been rescued in Nepal, nearly a week after deadly floods impacted the country. The floods have resulted in over 1,000 fatalities.

A Nepali army spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday that 118 Nepalese individuals and one British male were rescued. Among the Nepalese rescued, 44 are female and 74 are male. The British national has not yet been identified.

More than 3,900 people remain missing, including over 600 workers believed to be trapped in mud-filled tunnels at hydropower sites along the Trishuli River. Nepalese Prime Minister Balendra Shah stated on Monday that 279 people had been rescued from these sites.

An international team, including Chinese and Nepalese military personnel, is leading the rescue operation. Experts from India, Korea, and Australia are also involved.
