The British Embassy in Asunción is set to host British Week 2026 in Paraguay, celebrating its tenth anniversary from Saturday 15 to Sunday 23 August. The event aims to highlight British excellence in areas such as food, literature, education, business, music, academia, and culture, while also raising the UK's profile in Paraguay.
The programme includes a variety of activities throughout the week. Attendees can enjoy a Full English Breakfast and Afternoon Tea Ritual at Urbano Café locations, and British-style beer and menus at Sacramento Brewing Co. There will also be exhibits of British cars and motorbikes, a selection of British products, and a display dedicated to Sir David Attenborough at Casa Rica Molas López and Los Laureles.
Daily events range from a presentation on unknown stories of the British Isles to Paraguay in the 16th century, a celebration of British music, and a British Brunch. Other highlights include live British cooking demonstrations of Fish & Chips, a Paddington Bear reading session, a virtual tour of the Jane Austen Museum, and a Chevening Pub Quiz. A movie screening of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Oasis and Britpop tribute concerts, and a Premier League watch party are also scheduled.
