Police in Malawi are investigating the abduction of Nusrat Osman, a 47-year-old British national, who was kidnapped in Blantyre, the country's main city.
Ms Osman was reportedly seized by four men travelling in a grey Nissan Dualis at around 12:30 local time on Friday, according to a police statement. She is a mother of two young children and was reported to be working for a local auditing firm.
Authorities have offered a reward of more than $17,000 (£12,600) for information that could lead to her rescue and the prosecution of those responsible. Police have stated that the motive behind the abduction is unknown, and the kidnappers have not yet made contact with either Ms Osman's family or the authorities.
Ms Osman's husband was quoted by Nyasa Times as expressing anguish over her disappearance, stating: "I don't know where she is or how she is. My wife is an auditor and I have no issues with anyone."
