McClure, who shared the stage with Grisetti in the Broadway production of 'Something Rotten!' and served as his best man, expressed profound grief on social media. He highlighted Grisetti's inspirational influence on students and his transformative impact on the musical theatre programme at Cal State Fullerton, stating, 'Communities around the world will never be the same without him.'
Sierra Boggess, Grisetti's co-star in 'It Shoulda Been You', also shared a heartfelt tribute on her official Instagram. She praised his ability to 'create light and thought and humour everywhere he went,' recognising him as 'a brilliant actor and director and writer'. Boggess also extended her sympathy to his students, noting their fortune in having him as a teacher.
Just days before his death, Grisetti had withdrawn from directing a production of 'Legally Blonde' in Italy, citing personal reasons. In what would be his final Instagram post, he paid tribute to the cast and crew, wishing them success on their opening night and expressing deep emotion about his journey home. Grisetti had previously advocated for actors to gain international experience, describing it in a 2016 interview as 'a thrilling way to see the world and experience new cultures while doing what you love.'
Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Southwest Virginia, Grisetti pursued his passion for performance, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Boston Conservatory in 2004. Beyond his performing career, he was a passionate educator, having taught at Fullerton College and Loyola Marymount University before taking the helm of the musical theatre programme at Cal State Fullerton. He is survived by his wife of six years, Mackenzie.
