BT has acquired TalkTalk and its wholesale arm PlatformX Communications out of administration, securing 1.5 million retail customers and one million wholesale connections.

BT has stepped in to acquire TalkTalk and its wholesale arm PlatformX Communications out of administration. The deal, announced on Monday, ends months of efforts to find a buyer for the broadband provider.
The acquisition ensures that 1.5 million retail customers and one million wholesale connections remain online. Approximately 900 TalkTalk employees will also move across to BT as part of the deal.
For existing TalkTalk customers, services, prices, and contracts are expected to remain unchanged for now. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has until 19 October to examine the deal.
