Paul Edbrooke, Victoria's emergency services minister, has expressed concern for his family's safety after a bullet was left on his car. The bullet had the word 'RAT' and his old firefighter number etched onto it.
Edbrooke said he was shocked and horrified by the discovery, particularly in light of the alleged attack on federal MP Helen Haines last week.
Why this matters: The incident raises concerns about the safety of politicians and their families.
What this means for you: If you are a politician or public figure, be aware that there may be an increased risk of threats or intimidation.
