Cameron Norrie's Grand Slam summer concluded with another first-round defeat, this time at the US Open. The 29th seed was ousted by Luca Van Assche, losing 6-7 (6) 6-2 6-2 6-3.
This exit follows similar first-round departures for Norrie at both the French Open and Wimbledon earlier in the summer. The 31-year-old also woke up to the news that he had been overtaken as British number one by Arthur Fery, who reached the Winston-Salem final.
Norrie had previously mentioned winning a padel competition among friends during his stag do in Ibiza last month.
