Ceva Logistics, a major shipping and logistics company, has been targeted in a cyberattack that has led to a data breach. The incident, which began on July 29, is affecting at least eight of Ceva's warehouses across Europe and is causing shipping delays.
Several companies that use Ceva for shipping, including Dutch retailers Bol and De Bijenkorf, football club Ajax, banking giant ING, eyeglass maker Ace & Tate, and video game giant Valve, have reported that their customers' personal information was stolen. This data reportedly includes names, home addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses used for orders.
Ceva Logistics confirmed to TechCrunch on August 1 that a cyber intrusion was impacting part of its European contract logistics operations. The company stated that its cybersecurity teams activated security protocols and launched an investigation, which is ongoing. Authorities in the Netherlands are reportedly investigating the incident.
