ChatGPT introduces virtual clothing try-on and product favouriting

OpenAI has launched new shopping features for ChatGPT, enabling users to virtually try on clothing and accessories using their own photos and save preferred products to a Favorites library.

  • ChatGPT users can now upload a photo to virtually try on clothing and accessories.
  • A new Favorites feature allows users to save products to a library within the app.
  • The new features leverage the ChatGPT Images 2.5 model, which OpenAI claims offers improved image generation.

OpenAI has rolled out two new shopping features globally for its conversational AI assistant, ChatGPT. These updates include a virtual try-on function for clothing and accessories and a new option to save products to a Favorites library.

The virtual try-on feature allows users to upload a selfie or full-body photo to see how an item might look on them. This option appears as a "try on" button in ChatGPT's shopping results. Users can also upload an image of an item, such as a web screenshot, and ask ChatGPT to apply it to their photo.

The Favorites feature enables users to save discovered products to a library within the app for later reference. These saved items will be stored alongside any try-on images. OpenAI stated that these new features utilise the recently launched ChatGPT Images 2.5 model.

What this means for you: You can now use ChatGPT to virtually try on clothes and accessories using your own photos and save items you like for later.
