Chelsea are embarking on their 11th bid for the Women's Champions League title as they face Austria Vienna today. Despite their domestic dominance, with eight WSL titles including a six-season winning streak between 2019-20 and 2024-25, Chelsea have yet to lift the European trophy.
The London club has only reached one Champions League final in their history. They enter this campaign not as English champions, having finished third last season, and currently sit third in the league table after drawing their opening match against Aston Villa.
Austria Vienna are making their debut in the competition's proper stages, after being knocked out in the final qualifying round last term. Chelsea are reportedly without key players Lauren James, Erin Cuthbert, Manaka Matsukobo, and Aggie Beever-Jones.
