Chelsea captain Erin Cuthbert has launched her own coffee business, Ruby Alba, this year. The Scotland midfielder, 28, stated she was driven to create something of her own to satisfy entrepreneurial cravings and prepare for life after football.
Cuthbert manages all sales, leads, and social media for Ruby Alba, utilising her business degree and MBA. She also uses Constant Contact, an AI-powered marketing partner and Chelsea Women partner, which has named her a small business ambassador.
The Chelsea captain spends an estimated two to three hours daily managing the business. She supplied the England Women cricket team during this year's World Cup and hopes to supply Chelsea Football Club in the near future, though this requires navigating rigorous approval processes.
Cuthbert registered Ruby Alba in February and began taking pre-orders by May. A serious knee injury in June, four days after launch, interrupted early momentum, but she used her rehab time to build the business foundations. While football remains her priority, she aims to grow Ruby Alba steadily to create passive income for the future.
