The 2021 runners-up and six-time European semi-finalists are in the qualifying stage after finishing third in the Women's Super League last term, their lowest league position since 2019. They are considered favourites against the Spanish side.
The financial stakes are significant, with all 18 clubs in the league phase guaranteed a minimum of €505,000. Additional prize money is available for wins, draws, and final league standings, with the eventual champions receiving €1,050,000 in prize money across the knockout phase.
Chelsea will host the first leg on 26 August, with the return leg in Spain scheduled for 2 September. This comes just three days before their WSL season opener at home against Aston Villa on 5 September.
