Chevening Alumni Solomon Islands (CASI), in partnership with the Solomon Islands National University (SINU), hosted a public information session on Wednesday 2 September. The session, held at the SINU Lecture Theatre, Kukum Campus, aimed to help prospective applicants understand the Chevening Scholarship programme for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom.
Students, young professionals, and aspiring leaders interested in a fully funded master's degree in the UK attended the event. Participants received guidance on eligibility, the application process, and tips for preparing a strong application. Chevening alumni shared their experiences of studying and living in the UK.
Rickson Jordan Bau, Chevening Officer at the British High Commission, stated that Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s international awards programme. It supports emerging leaders globally to undertake a one-year master’s degree in the UK, described as an investment in individuals with ambition, leadership, and commitment to contribute positively to their country and communities.
Applications for the current Chevening Scholarship cycle are now open and will close on 6 October 2026. Prospective applicants are encouraged to visit the official Chevening website for detailed eligibility requirements, application guidance, and information on eligible UK University courses.
