Chez Rose, a new French-inspired restaurant, has recently opened on Pollen Street in Mayfair, London. The establishment, which occupies the former site of Jason Atherton’s Little Social, aims to evoke the feel of everyday French dining.
The restaurant is a project by Spencer Metzger, who has previously worked at The Ritz and Row on 5. Metzger stated that Chez Rose is a tribute to his late grandmother, Rosemary. The day-to-day cooking is overseen by head chef Mark Catchpole, whose culinary background includes Roganic, Attica, and The Fat Duck.
The menu at Chez Rose features a range of French-inspired dishes. Offerings include wild mushroom persillade with preserved truffle, Orkney scallop with Café de Paris butter, and Cornish cod with mussel sauce and samphire. Aylesbury duck breast with black figs is also available, alongside a T-bone steak for two priced at £145. Desserts include mousse au chocolat and a 70% chocolate souffle, which requires pre-ordering.
The restaurant is open all week, with lunch served from noon to 2:30 pm (3:30 pm on Sundays) and dinner from 5:30 pm (6:30 pm on Sundays) to 9:15 pm for the last seating. An à la carte meal is estimated to cost around £90 per person, excluding drinks and service, while Sunday lunch is £49 for two courses or £59 for three courses.
