A humanoid robot developed by Chinese smartphone maker Honor has reportedly completed a 100m sprint in 9.32 seconds. The robot, named Lightning, achieved this time during a preparatory test event for the second World Humanoid Robot Games.
This reported time is faster than the current men's 100m world record of 9.58 seconds, set by Usain Bolt 17 years ago. China's state broadcaster reported the achievement, noting the robot reached a peak speed of 14.5 meters per second.
