  • The collection featured leather designs and colours inspired by post-industrial Scotland.

British fashion designer Christopher Kane and luxury brand Mulberry have made a joint return to London Fashion Week. Kane, who placed his brand in administration in 2023, has been appointed as Mulberry's creative director.

The collection showcased spicy leather mini dresses and shoes with miniature axes for heels. It also featured leather sheath dresses, car coats, and heeled loafers incorporating Mulberry’s signature postman’s lock.

Kane named the show “Town, city, country” and drew colour inspiration from “the bleak, post-industrial Scotland where I grew up – grey concrete, and coalminer orange.” He expressed a desire for Mulberry to represent a Britishness that extends beyond London.

Mulberry, which faced challenges after price increases and a takeover bid, is experiencing a revival, with sales up 23% in the first quarter of this year. The brand's renewed focus on Britishness and craft is reportedly fuelling this turnaround.
