Jeremy Clarkson pulled off a masterstroke of kindness on Tuesday – giving away his World Cup tickets to two delighted England supporters in the midst of a Boston downpour. The TV presenter's generosity brought a smile to the faces of Gary Collier, an electrical engineer from who-knows-where, and Derry Robson, a semi-professional footballer for Pontefract Collieries – they were over the moon to snag two tickets to the England vs Ghana group stage match!
Clarkson, 66, was spotted in Boston covering the FIFA World Cup for The Sun newspaper. He explained his decision not to use his own stand seats due to the rain: "It's raining so I thought, 'I don't want to be out there in it'." The luxury of a posh box beckoned instead!
Robson and Collier, both clad in England gear, were visibly grateful for Clarkson's generosity. "We've got them! We've been trying all morning!" exclaimed Collier, before Robson chipped in: "Cheers mate, we're very appreciative." Clarkson replied with a smile: "Absolute pleasure. Enjoy the match, chaps."
Earlier that day, Clarkson had tweeted about his spare tickets – and it seems his generosity didn't go unnoticed! He'd posted on X asking if anyone in Boston wanted them, before following up to clarify that they needed to be based in the city. And now, thanks to Clarkson's kindness, two England fans are set for a matchday they'll never forget.
This heartwarming moment comes hot on the heels of Clarkson sharing some personal updates. He recently revealed his cancer diagnosis from 2025 and confirmed he's officially in remission – having "cheated death twice"!
