The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has opened a new consultation, inviting comments on its updated proposals for a user choice conduct requirement concerning Google's general search services.
This latest move follows an earlier consultation on a series of conduct requirements for Google's general search services, which began on 28 January 2026. That initial consultation included a proposed requirement aimed at improving how Google presents choices to consumers and influences their decision-making.
The CMA has considered responses from the previous consultation, alongside broader market trends, in developing these updated proposals.
